green mamba

The eastern green mamba is only one of 4 mambas another is in one of my other blogs the black mamba, the green mamba can grow from 6 to 7 feet in length.The green mamba is similar to the black mamba and the others they all have the same shaped head but they are in different colors.The newly birthed mambas are about 15 inches long and are still able to kill a full grown adult the green mambas life range is 12 to 20 years.Their habitats are mostly consist of woodlands and coastal bushlands along with bambo thickets they  will only leave the safety of the trees to find food or go for a swim on a hot day. The green mamba can be found on the east coast of southern africa the green mamba has been known to be shy unlike the black mamba that will chase people the green mamba will most likely just strike if in danger or just hide in the thickets since they can blend in to the leafs and that is one of their greatest strengths is blending in with their well adapted skin 87wD972QE1U youtube video of green mamba 

Desert Horned Viper

 The desert horned viper is known for its two horns above its eyes and this sets it apart from other snakes you would find in the desert. The snake is similar to the side winder and moves in a similar motion across the sand they also have a pattern on there back that resembles the sand and helps them blend in to the sand and rocks around it. They are mostly found in northern africa and the middle east. For example the snake played a prominent and at times a mythical role in egyptians history mummified bodies of desert horned viper where found in the city of thebes on the banks of the nile river. yellow bellied sea snake

The yellow bellied sea snake like other sea snakes has a paddle like tail and the reason for the name is easy to tell why it is named the way it is because of the yellow belie.The yellow bellied sea can be found in africa from djibouti in the north to cape town in the south and across the indian ocean,the pacific,south as far as the northern coast of new zealand,all the way to the western coast of america,where it occurs from northern peru in the south including the galapagos islands.They travel along the warm sea currents and travel on the surface of the water they also will hold their head out of the water when they are swimming fast. The yellow bellied sea snake feeds mostly on small fish.They are capable of swimming 1 m/sec and they are 10x more venomous than the  egyptian cobra but they deliver a smaller amount of venom per bite than the cobra and the venom is used to immobilize their prey females give berth from 2 to 6 live young after 6 months.The yellow sea snake can be found in groups and they can be found in floating sea weed.

Gaboon Viper

   The Gabon viper is one of the many largest snakes and some can grow to be 7 feet long and the gabon viper is known to have large venom glands in it head making its head huge. The gabon viper can be found  mostly in the moist areas of central africa the gabons diet is made up of small prey items such as frogs and small rodents on the ground and underground. The average size of this snake is 4-6 feet long and there average weight is 8-16 pounds making this snake heavy and there fangs are 1 to 2 inches long and can deal a deadly dose of venom there venom type is a cardiotoxin witch will destroy the hart and body muscles and make the victim die of muscle failure. The gaboon viper can give berth from 30 to 60 live young making there chance of growing up to mature a 50% chance and this makes the chance of coming across one high but if you see one of these snakes try to avoid it because it is not to be messed with and it can kill you and it is said that some of the bite victims die in 7 days so do try to stay away from this snake.

The boom slang is one of the worlds deadliest snakes and is different compered to your average venomous snake it's eyes are not like cats but are round as you can see in the image to the right . The boomslang has a round head like the black mamba and comes in many bright colors. The boomslang's venom packs a punch but it is shy and less likely to bite people but do not think that you are safe just because it is shy because some are not and they will not hesitate to bite. The boomslang's venom is a hemotoxin meaning that it attacks red blood cells and can cause the one it bites to bleed from there gums and the nose and the victim will turn blue from internal bleeding and will die do to lack of blood and there body will shut down and the victim will die but lucky for use there is an antivenom that can be given but this dose not always work out in the end for some but for most this works.

monitor lizard

The monitor lizard is related to its much larger relative the kamodo dragon in a way you can call it a small scale kamodo dragon. But do not think that it can not harm you just because of its size the monitor is still as capable of causing damage like the kamodo dragon because of there razor sharp teeth and claws and because of its size it can run up to 28 mph and that is faster than the fastest human in the world that ran at 18 mph compared to a normal human that can run only 15 mph. The monitor lizard can reach sizes up to 310 cm and lives from 15 to 30 years there colors can be tan, brown, grey, or green. There habitats include river banks and coastal forests and there Life style type is solitary. There diet includes mostly eggs fish and edible plants.there mostly found in indonisa asia florida and australia. The best thing to do if you see one of these lizards is to stay still and try not to make yourself a target and remember these lizards can use there test the air for your sent and they can pick up a sent even if it is 5 miles away.

Blue Krait

The blue krait is the worlds 3rd most toxic snake and 50% of its bites even with the anti venom are deadly. The maximum length for the blue krait is 1.6 meters and they rang from all over thailand and much of southeast asia. The blue krait will mostly active at night and is not likely to bite during the day and is more likely to bite at night but do not think that you can mess with it during the day because the have still been known to bite during the day if under attack,or if you get to close to the  nest or it. the blue krait can lay from 4 to 10 eggs at birth the blue krait is 30(cm) and they are born in june-july. If you find your self in  a hospital bed due to a blue krait bite and they do not have the anti venom the ask if they have any tiger snake anti venom because it works just fin as a substitute for the blue krait anti venom.
